You could ask 50 people what they love about Queensland’s Gold Coast and they’d all say something different! Some say it’s the pristine beaches and the ocean; others love the theme parks; another person might choose Jupiter’s Casino, while someone else will say the hinterland.
And that’s the beauty of Gold Coast resort deals – there really is something for everyone, all year round, to suit every budget.
Everyone knows the Gold Coast tourist attractions are outstanding, and yet it’s also the perfect place to escape the crowds and immerse yourself in nature. There’s peace and quiet, and action-packed adventure here.
Gold Coast tourist attractions range from its major events – such as the V8 Supercars – and international shows, to idyllic river cruises, nature walks and quaint tea-rooms.
With more than 70 kilometres of coastline on offer, it’s no surprise that so many Gold Coast resort deals are located close to water, and that’s why it’s considered such a beautiful tropical paradise.
But if the majestic Pacific Ocean isn’t your choice, there are endless waterways to explore. And you can do this by hiring a boat or a kayak, or booking a cruise – so easy!
There are many water-based Gold Coast tourist attractions – even amongst the theme parks, with Wet ‘n’ Wild one of Australia’s most popular destinations. And the reason for that, is that the Gold Coast enjoys such a gorgeous climate all year round, with blue skies and sunshine right through the winter months.
Fishing is a very popular pastime on the Gold Coast, with a choice of sea fishing, or something a little slower along the waterways. For those who enjoy their adrenalin hit, book yourself a deep sea fishing charter for a day you’ll never forget.
Another popular Gold Coast tourist attraction is the region’s amazing food and wine. There are some stunning world-class restaurants on offer – many of them in the Broadbeach area. And there’s also a thriving network of farm gates and cellar doors to explore. Some of the delights found out in the hinterland are truly amazing, from home grown produce to home-made jams and pickles, bread, cheese, even salami – it’s foodie heaven!
Certainly the Gold Coast Hinterland is one of my favourite destinations. Just 45 minutes from the beach, it’s like another world – lush, green, and cool in summer. There are rainforests and waterfalls, swimming holes and mountain ranges.
I suggest setting off bright and early, and heading for Mt Tamborine, or Lamington National Park. There are some stunning views to enjoy, a range of walks to suit all abilities, and many picturesque little villages to visit.
And do not leave until you have sampled a hinterland afternoon tea in one of the many tea-rooms, perhaps sat out in the garden, amongst the flowers and trees.
The beauty of the many excellent Gold Coast resort deals is that they leave plenty of money in your pocket for exploring and treating yourself. So enjoy that gourmet dinner; have an ice-cream; buy a painting from an upcoming artists, or take home a few bottles of locally-made wine.
Do what you want – it’s a holiday!
